If the book is set in college, it seems to draw a line between readers who had a similar college experience, and those who didn’t. However, I chose New Adult because college was a huge part of my life. I went away to school at 17 (I was young), had to adjust to being on my own, spent four years there – during which I met my husband, and then ended up doing two Master’s degrees. I have also taught high school

Release Day: Death of the Mad Hatter - Sarah J Pepper

BLURB  If the king loses his head, then the Queen with a Bleeding Heart would rule the Red Court until Time ceased to move forward. When a second carried on for infinity, every creature in Wonderland would tip their Hat to the misfit girl with a Boy’s name (or was it a boy with a Girl’s name?) who’d end the Reign of Terror. However, it all hinged on the One-Eyed Hare being able to convince an uninspirable Heir that the impossible was indeed possible—like stopping time—and that Love was worth a Beheading. Heads would Roll… Hearts would Break… In the end, would it matter who Reigned?   *** Rafflecopter signed book giveaway ***

What's more is we have a fabulous giveaway for you all too! Today - day four- we're featuring author Cate Ellink.  Enjoy her post and have fun entering the giveaway. The most difficult part of writing The Virginity Mission Before The Virginity Mission , I was writing stories that I felt lacked authenticity. I'm not good at inventing settings, so I decided to write what I know (this advice is given to learners a lot). The Virginity Mission is based on a trip I did to the Daintree Rainforest in North Queensland, Australia, when I was at university. It was the most incredible experience and I wanted to share. But my reality was a boring story. I had to fabricate a story i

What's more is we have a fabulous giveaway for you all too! Today - day three - we're featuring author J.M. Bray. Enjoy his post and have fun entering the giveaway. 3 Ingredients For Cooking Up A Villain by J.M. Bray “Write what you know.” We’ve seen the quote a thousand times and for the most part, it’s good advice. When writing Tearing the Shroud , I faced a dilemma where that little phrase didn’t help at all. The novel is the first in a multi-book series and I wanted an antagonist who would kick things off with a bang. Like many people, I try to do positive, uplifting things with my life. I’d seen bad, I’d experienced bad, I’d even stood against it, but how could I come up w

Escape Publishing Birthday Bash & Giveaway: Robin Thomas

We're so excited to be apart of Escape Publishing's birthday. We'll be featuring FIVE of Escape Publishing's amazing New Adult authors who have so generously spent the time writing lovely posts for you all, giving you the opportunity to let you get to know them better. What's more is we have a fabulous giveaway for you all too! Today - day one - we're featuring the awesome author Robin Thomas. Enjoy her post and have fun entering the giveaway. Bonjour Cherie and Serendipity by Robin Thomas Some (most) books are hard work – like cleaning the gutters on a hot December day.  There might be the occasional cool breeze and, of course, there’s immense satisfaction when the job is done, but you have to raise a sweat and get dirty and try not to swear (too much). Occasionally, though serendipity happens, and the voices in your head take over, clamouring to tell their story, in their way. And then the ideas and the words flow, because suddenly your c

WitchHunt Tour Review - Emma Mills

‘I know it’s selfish, but I don’t want you to go,’ Daniel said, a couple of minutes later. I looked at him and smiled. ‘I’ll be fine, I will.’ ‘You’d better be. I don’t know what I’d do without you. Those months I stupidly spent apart from you… they were torment for me,’ he said. ‘They were torment for me too.’ Reviewer: Bex Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Fairies This series has developed so beautifully, and WitchHunt ends with an amazing conclusion. The characters really come into their own in this series finale, especially Jess. Her growth and reactions are expertly crafted, creating a book and series that should be a must read for paranormal lovers. Emma Mills' descriptive narrative really helps to build the level of suspense in WitchHunt. It was a real struggle not to race ahead to allow my heartbeat to decrease. Fortunately, I held back enough to savour the final instalment, and I'm so pleased I did. With a lovely mixture of humour, tension and romanc

Theirs To Play is a book about two deprived, narcissistic, soulless brothers learning about life and the woman who doles out the lessons. And I love every glorious dirty-sexy second of it! Think modern Cruel Intentions but with brothers. Reading how Dawn schools this naughty twosome made this one of my favorite books of the year! But Miss Wright, I am a stickler for endings and yours has me torn. I hate how the story just ends with what felt like a minimal conclusion, but damn, does this woman know how to write one mean epilogue! Kenya had me salivating for what would come next and ready to take a bite out of her ass for not providing me with more!

Tour Review: Ascension - Stacey Rourke

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies  Ascension is the fourth instalment in Stacey Rourke's epic Gryphon series. This read offers vivid action and amazing insight into a whole array of characters. The back stories weaved through Ascension successfully added a layer of depth to the characters and the plot, allowing Rourke's characters to become truly three-dimensional.  Ascension was thoroughly entertaining and pushed the story along beautifully. Celeste especially grows into her powers and shows a new level of maturity and acceptance. All of this of course is entwined with the flawless humour and sarcasm.  There are several head-spinning twists and moments where I was left quite verbally ranting at character reactions, all a testament to Rourke's ability to bring her world and characters to life. Book four is far less emotive and therefore not as emotionally engaging than previous books in the series, yet it's purpose and significance is no less signi

Book Spotlight: Bitter Fruits - Sarah Daltry

For fans of dark urban fantasy comes a novel that questions why forbidden fruit is always the most tempting… A vampire-themed masquerade party isn’t really her scene, but Nora is sick of frat parties and bars. When she meets Alec, the appeal suddenly becomes clear. It’s obvious that they’ve been struck by the same intense mutual attraction, but Alec keeps his distance. Intrigued despite herself, Nora pushes a little deeper — and discovers Alec’s unimaginable secret… Nora is not afraid of following Alec into the darkness, but the choice is soon taken from her. Someone is hunting her — someone tied to the secret and desperate to see it play out. But when Nora finally meets her aggressor, she finds herself hopelessly drawn to him. She needs to make a choice between the two men, but can she save them both, knowing one is destined to die? Release Day Review: A Cold Day in Hell - Sharon Hannaford

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Fairies Gabi is still a kick-ass character. In many ways, I prefer her even more in book three. She really embraces her talents. What I especially like, is the fact that she's not infallible; it's this more human-like aspect of her character that makes the reader able to empathise with her character.   I love that world that Sharon Hannaford creates. Her descriptive narrative and element of realism in the fantasy world, creates a world that is exciting and vivid. I do enjoy the author's stylistic quirks. It is the author's ability to bring her world to life that successfully captured my attention and drew me in. The cast of secondary characters was extensive. It was fun getting to know several of these characters a little better. This also enabled the story to become more three-dimensional.  For fans of urban fantasy, be sure to continue wit h this amazing series. I cannot wait until the author's next epic instalment.

Ah, thinking about all my most horrible memories all the time, this is going to be awesome, what could possibly go wrong?
