Review: Heating up Hawaii - Carmen Falcone

Reviewer: Brittany Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies This book was short. Even with the amount of pages, there wasn't a single thing rushed or cheesy. There was lots of love, an abundance of romance, and even some sorrow. The characters were easily likable and could even be related to. Their lives have been portrayed as very relatable for the average Joe and Jane's of the world. Now about the storyline. So sweet and yet sad at times. When pure chance brought the couple back together, Penny is in awe and Luc is hateful. Poor Penny has to put a smile on her face and woo Luc courtesy of her boss. She must get him to give her a PR contract for his new hotel or lose her job. Neither choice is ideal for her but she does amazingly at it. Things quickly heat up between them once in Hawaii. The remainder of the book is all about doing the re-launch party for the hotel and LOTS AND LOTS of steamy scenes between Luc and Penny. I would rate this book a 4-star read. It was short bu

Review: Beyond the Eyes - Rebekkah Ford

Reviewer: Brittany Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies ***May contain small spoilers*** This book was so good. The synopsis intrigued me so I thought I would like it. But I didn't. I flippin' loved it. I read this book while on a bus and sitting in a bus station. I felt so many emotions while reading this from sympathy, laughter, and even swooned a few times. In fact at points I laughed so hard I had to bite my cheek to not make a complete fool of myself. The love that Paige and Nathaniel have is down right kismet. I knew from the beginning that these two were soul mates. Not only because the book said so, but also because their characters screamed it. From the very beginning at the club, you could almost feel the connection that these two had. The many times that he was there supporting, encouraging, and grounding Paige only made the characters that more lovable. I love his character. The other characters are just as lovable but the two that stick out the most to me are Tr

Read on to find out more about this new addition to the series, a great offer on Her Guardian Angel , and also a fantastic giveaway she's running until September 29th! Reviewer: Bex Rating: 5 out of 5 fairies   Her Wicked Angel is one Hell of a read - pun intended! From the moment the novel opens, we are caught up in the thick of action and are treated to two previously introduced characters, Asmodeus and Liora. What I immediately loved about Her Wicked Angel was that there's no preamble. The characters are immediately caught up in one another and are crafted in such a beautifully delicious way, that I was eager to support their story and their connection. This series is by far one of my favourite angle/demon series to-date. As such, I always have high expectations for this author. Reassuringly and unsurprisingly, the author, Felicity Heaton, has on

Review: The Royal Flush - D.N Simmonds

Reviewer: Brittany Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies Oh how much I ducking love reading these books. I have enjoyed each character, each word, each and every single book. For The Royal Flush I had a smile on my face from Walter to feet (a.k.a. very first word to the very last ). I laughed so much at points that my husband told me that a person should not laugh that much from a book. And I responded with “Shush it, Mister.” I literally lost time; I was so entranced in this story. Hours flew by and I didn’t even realize it until I was running late getting ready for work. So far from this series, this one was my favorite. Darian is this character that everyone knows, but no one really knows. You not only learn so much more about his past, but you also learn about his Maker, Kysen, and his past as well. Darian’s past created who he has become as a vampire. And I was very grateful what his history consisted of. It helped me understand the characteristics that I, as well as Natasha, didn’t

Review: CTRL Z: By Danika Stone

Reviewer: John Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies At first, I was put off by the strange names, improbable names in my experience, but there again, I don’t live in New York. I then started to think of them, as much as anything, as aliases, names changed to protect the innocent, because this is a totally believable story. Marq is not a central character, but we all know someone like him; he does the same job you, but always has a better car, better clothes, lives in a better neighbourhood... He might be the guy at college who can get the pills to help you stay awake to study, and the pills & powder to help you celebrate/commiserate afterwards, or the guy who can connect you to the right politician/businessman; it doesn’t matter which strata of society you move in, he’s there. Jude is drawn in by this seemingly easy, if a little dubious lifestyle. Purely by chance he meets the beautiful & enigmatic Indigo and against a backdrop of secrets they hold from each other they grow c

Review: Slow Hand Quickens - Allie Mathews

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 4 out of 5 Fairies I enjoyed Slow Hand Quickens thoroughly. It was a deeply moving, yet uplifting coming of age-story, focusing on abuse, friendship and love. The style and the pace of the novel worked successfully to allow the reader to follow the drama and Kristen's reaction to the situations she found herself. This is a book that left me in tears. My heart broke on many occasions for the main character and for Chris. For such an array of sensitive and emotive subject issues that the author bravely broached, Allie Mathews did so with careful craft and consideration. The graphic and sometimes disturbing scenes, the author especially handled well. She was sensitive, yet still enabled us to see the rawness and vulnerability of her characters. She held back just enough. I particularly like the ways in which the main character, Kristen, grows and develops, especially when forming her tentative friendship with her bff, Mila. Slow Hand Quickens is

Tour Review & Giveaway: Three of Diamonds - W. Ferraro

Reviewer: Brittany Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies When I first started reading the Hamden Series, I loved how real each character was. Each story was sweet, loving, and down-to-earth. But this one was all that plus, oh so much, more. This lovely tale added in each of those characteristics plus a heck of a lot of fun kinkery. I love me a good kink tale. And this one housed that plus everything real of the other characters. I am a sucker for a man that is good with children. And I’m completely swept away by a man that is good with special needs children. So many people are scared away by children that are special needs, and much of it is due to the lack of knowledge. Not everyone is capable of dealing with children with various conditions. Lola, Aimee, and even Wes are not one of those people. They love Boyd and it shows big time. They handle him with his episodes, his energy, and even his temper. At times I though that Wes handled him better than his own sister. Shocking,

Release Day Review: Tattered Love - Lola Stark

Reviewer: Bex Rating: 5 out of 5 Fairies Tattered Love is a truly fantastic debut novel from an author set to take the indie scene by storm. The formulation of the storyline from concept, to character creation, to plot development is beautifully executed. There was barely amount that I had the chance to gasp for air and recover, not only a result of the fast-perfect pace, but also by my unwillingness to put this engrossing read down. In some books, a fast pace can be an issue, but not in Tattered Love. The speed simply works. It adds to the unfolding drama and action, and as a result, successfully helps to deliver a hot-as-Hades contemporary romance. We are introduced to the two main characters Scarlett and Mace. It's a challenge to pinpoint which character I had a crush on the most, both are superb three-dimensional characters who are fiery, passionate and flawed. That's part of the beauty of this book - how truly real the characters are in a world on paper. Th
